  1. J Elizabeth Wiggins says:

My great great grandfather Thomas Scruton and his wife Jane (nee Holiday) lived here and he worked as a corn miller there between 1865 and 1879-80. It was a 5 sailed windmill. Prior to this he had been a corn miller in nearby Wansford, a water mill. My great grandmother Hannah Rebecca Scruton had been born at Wansford, shortly before they moved to Antimill, Their family at the time they moved to Antimill consisted of three children born in Driffield / Wansford, (Elizabeth Ellen in 1866, Sarah Ann in 1867, and Hannah Rebecca. Once in Antimill they had 5 more children – Martha Jane in 1871, Ada Alice in 1873, Tom in 1875, Joseph in 1877, and Annie Eleanor in 1879. The family then moved to Cartwright Lane, where they had a shop.
